4. Overview
In the plenary of this conference, we will discuss the food security, the natural environment, and the indigenous peoples' issues that Hokkaido should treat in an autonomous and inclusive way. We will have reports on the history of the development of Hokkaido from the perspectives of researchers in specialized fields, practitioners, and indigenous peoples, in order to clarify the past problems related to development, and also to explore future prospects. We believe that the theme of this prenaly session is common among the JASID members, and that each of them faces the issues. We will consider this from the perspective of Hokkaido's unique history, social structure, and natural environment.
