An analysis of TOEFL ITP® scores revealed that while the intensive English course temporarily improved students' English proficiency immediately after the course, the effects were largely lost after one year. The study highlighted the difficulty in sustaining reading comprehension skills over the long term and indicated the need to review the content of grammar and vocabulary instruction in the course.
