Can gPBL succeed when engineering students lack advanced English proficiency? Analysis of three Japan–Thailand robotics cohorts (n = 85) found significant MGUDS-S gains (p < .001) while CEFR Conversation showed no change, suggesting that global competence development may depend on non-language factors.
