This paper examines the design and implementation of micro-credentials in engineering education. Based on standardization and international collaboration, it clarifies learner positioning and proposes design principles covering learning pathways, quality assurance, learning outcomes, assessment, and digital issuance. It argues that micro-credentials support outcomes-based education and strengthen the connection between engineering education and society.
