This paper examines the effectiveness of interdisciplinary education in engineering through an overseas training program at the University of York. By combining English language studies with local site visits and homestays, students gained an understanding of social and historical contexts. This suggests that such programs can foster the multifaceted perspectives necessary for applying technical knowledge to society.
