This study examined the educational impact of the Faculty of Engineering’s Laos Short-Term Study Abroad Program at Niigata University, and the factors that led to the establishment of the student-founded “Laos Hand Tricycle Project.” It also explored the conditions necessary for study abroad programs that foster student-led project emergence.
