The 95th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Parasitology

Greeting

Welcome Message from the President

It is my great honor and privilege to announce that the 95th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Parasitology (JSP) will be held at Kitasato University’s Sagamihara Campus from March 20 to 22, 2026. Hosting this historic meeting at Kitasato University for the first time, in the context of the Society’s distinguished 95-year history, is both a profound honor and a significant responsibility.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “Parasitology in the Global Era: Shaping the Future through Collaboration and Innovation.” Throughout human history, parasitology has played a vital role in safeguarding health and has provided the foundation for infectious disease prevention and control. Today, parasitic and infectious diseases present increasingly complex and diverse challenges on a global scale, requiring multidisciplinary approaches and strong international collaboration. This meeting aims to serve as a vibrant forum for the exchange of research findings across a wide spectrum from basic biology to clinical medicine, public health, drug discovery, and ecology while fostering dialogue that will inspire new directions in parasitology.

The Kitasato Institute is a comprehensive university of life sciences, comprising schools and graduate programs including medicine and veterinary medicine, as well as a network of affiliated hospitals, thereby integrating education and research across a wide range of medical and life science fields. Guided by the vision of its founder, Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, and a legacy of international collaboration exemplified by the historic partnership with Dr. Hideyo Noguchi, the Institute has consistently advanced research excellence and global engagement. This meeting will highlight the activities of the Kitasato-Noguchi Research and Development Center for Infectious Diseases and will feature a symposium exploring its role as a global infectious disease research hub, offering an international perspective on the future of parasitology.

This meeting marks a milestone in the Society’s 95-year history and offers an opportunity to pave new ground for future generations of parasitology research and collaboration. With an engaging program of symposia, keynote lectures, and initiatives to support and inspire young scientists, we are committed to making this three-day gathering a highly productive and meaningful event for participants from both Japan and around the world. I sincerely look forward to your active participation and presentations, and to sharing this opportunity to advance parasitology together with colleagues worldwide.
