Awards for Oral and Poster Presentations

At the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Virology, we will be establishing an "Excellent Presentation Award" and will proactively award excellent presentations, both oral and poster presentations, after selection by a committee of judges. We encourage everyone to register and present their presentations.

Eligibility

  • Those who wish to submit abstracts for this meeting must complete your registration before the abstract submission.If you have not registered yet, please visit the Online Registration page first.
  • The first and presenting author must be a member of the Japanese Society for Virology (JSV). Non-members who wish to submit abstracts should join JSV first.
  • JSV membership is not necessarily required for those who belong to overseas facilities.
  • International students in Japan should apply for JSV membership if they wish to submit abstracts.
  • The JSV membership number is required when you submit an abstract. Please put “007-999-9999” if you are in the process of applying for membership.
  • JSV membership application can be accessed from the website of The Japanese Society for Virology.

Oral (Workshop)

To promote interdisciplinary discussion, this conference will host five open-call workshops. These workshops will be held in larger venues and will feature longer presentation times than general oral sessions to facilitate active discussion. The presentation language is limited to English.

Application instructions

If you wish to present in a workshop, please select “Oral” under “Presentation Format” and “English” under “Presentation Language,” and choose one of the five categories listed below when submitting your application.

The organizers will select presentations from the submitted abstracts.Please note that if your proposal is not selected for a workshop, it may be assigned as a general oral presentation.

  • Workshop 2: Replication and Assembly
  • Workshop 3: Genome, Technology, and Models
  • Workshop 4: Pathogenesis and Immunity
  • Workshop 5: Prevention, Therapy, and Control

Important Notice

  • It is not permitted to submit the same abstract as one previously published in scientific journals.
  • One abstract will be accepted per presenter (first author).
  • Co-authors are eligible to submit more than one abstract.
  • Only one abstract will be accepted when the abstracts from the same group are considered as one presentation.
  • Please include the latest research result.
  • The following abstracts will not be accepted: aim of study is not clear, irrelevant replication research, containing significant errors, gap between experiment and conclusion, and lack of moral consideration, etc.

Acceptance Notice

  • Notification regarding acceptance or rejection will be sent to the registered email address around the end of August, 2026. If you have not received an email notification, please contact the meeting secretariat.
  • The program committee is responsible for reviewing all abstracts and deciding presentation style and time. 
  • A list of accepted abstracts will be published on this website.

Submitting Abstracts

  • All abstracts should be submitted electronically through Online Abstract Submission System, Confit.
  • When you first register your presentation, you will need to obtain an A-Pass (former Confit account). If you have already registered for participation and have an A-Pass (former Confit account), you can register your presentation by logging in with your A-Pass (former Confit account).
  • After completing your abstract registration, a submission completion email containing your registration number will be sent to the email address you registered. This notification is usually sent within a few minutes, but if you do not receive the email, your abstract registration may not have been completed. After checking your registration details, if it is not complete, please register again.

Precautions when submitting your abstracts 

  • All abstracts should be submitted electronically through Online Abstract Submission System, Confit.
    • Abstracts should not be submitted by post or e-mail.

  • You can review, modify, or cancel your registered abstract any number of times until the abstract submission deadline.
  • To confirm, modify, or cancel your abstract, please log in to the abstract registration system using your A-Pass (formerly Confit account) login ID and password.
  • To submit your abstract or modify your abstrast, please click the "Submit/Modify abstract" button below.
