The JVSS Excellent Lecture Awards are given to young JVSS members who present excellent oral or poster presentations that contribute to the development of science and technology related to surfaces and vacuum.

There are three categories according to age.

• JVSS Young-Researcher Lecture Award (若手研究者部門)

Applicants must be between 33 and 39 years old as of April 1, 2024.

• JVSS Rising-Researcher Lecture Award (新進研究者部門)

Applicants must be 32 years old or younger as of April 1, 2024.

• JVSS Student Award (学生部門)

Applicants must be student members who enroll as students as of the date of the presentation, regular members who were student members until midway through 2024, or those who are recognized as qualified by JVSS 2024 Annual Meeting Committee.

On JVSS2024, Young-Researcher and Rising-Researcher Lecture Awards will be given for excellent poster presentations in Japanese. Student Awards will be given for excellent oral and poster presentations in Japanese.

Application for an award will be made at the time of abstract submission.

You need to prepare an appeal point describing strengths of your work as well as your contribution to the work to clarify why you deserves to be awarded. The length of the appeal point must be less than 1000 characters.
