To tackle global warming and climate change, we investigate two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals heterojunctions as promising materials for energy conversion and photocatalytic water splitting. Using multiple scanning probe microscopy (SPM) along with TEM and Raman mapping, we correlate local structure, surface topography, and electrochemical activity to gain nanoscale insights for designing next-generation energy materials.
