Biomolecular modalities such as proteins, RNA, and cells are transforming modern medicine by providing new therapeutic options for diseases that remain difficult to treat with conventional small-molecule drugs. These biomodules represent a paradigm shift in drug discovery, enabling precise control of biological processes and highly specific therapeutic effects. The key to realizing their full potential lies in Japan's world-leading expertise in pharmaceutical sciences—particularly in formulation design and drug delivery. By optimizing stability, bioavailability, and target specificity, these technologies drive the advancement of next-generation biopharmaceuticals. This symposium features four promising researchers developing innovative therapeutic strategies that harness biomodules such as proteins and mitochondria. Their talks will explore how the power of pharmaceutical science can bridge molecular design and clinical application. Through active discussion, the symposium aims to envision the future of drug discovery shaped by formulation and delivery technologies. Now in its 21st year, it is organized by young pharmaceutical scientists as a joint event with The Academy of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Japan and the Transformative Research Area (A) "precision polymers".
