Nucleic acid therapeutics are rapidly establishing themselves as a transformative paradigm in drug development, exemplified by their clinical application in treating genetic disorders and the success of mRNA vaccines. However, expanding their utility beyond hepatic targets remains a major challenge. Breakthroughs are needed in enhancing delivery efficiency through target specificity and stimulus responsiveness, as well as in pioneering novel delivery platforms such as cell-derived materials and extracellular vesicles (EVs)-based nanoparticles.
This symposium, under the unifying theme of "Precision Delivery × Nanotechnology: Envisioning the Future of Nucleic Acid Therapeutics through a Convergent Lens," will feature cutting-edge research from diverse and unconventional perspectives. Topics include triplex-forming nucleic acid scaffolds, non-mammalian EV-like nanoparticles, ultrasound-responsive nanobubbles, and dual-targeted lipid nanoparticles for cell- and organ-specific delivery. By sharing insights into emerging technologies aimed at precise delivery to target organs and cells, this symposium seeks to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue that will catalyze the next evolution of nucleic acid therapeutics and inspire new therapeutic paradigms.
This symposium is jointly organized with the Academy of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Japan (APSTJ).
