ウェルビーイングを考える—研究者自身と研究の先にあるもの
概要
ウェルビーイングとは、心身ともに良好な状態を示す言葉であり、近年さまざまな分野で注目されている。自分でもウェルビーイングについて学び、考えることが多くなった。
私は昨年12月に会社生活を卒業したが、振り返ると概してウェルビーイングな会社人生だったと感じている。その経験を踏まえ、研究者自身がウェルビーイングに生きるためには何が大切なのかを考えたい。また最近、研究テーマを考える際に「この研究は誰のウェルビーイングを向上させるのか？」という視点を持つことで、研究の目的や意義がより明確になるのではないかと考えるようになった。
本講演では、研究者自身のウェルビーイングを向上させるための視点と、研究が社会や人々のウェルビーイングにどう貢献しうるのかという視点の両面から、ウェルビーイングと研究の関係を考察する。

TITLE
The Destination of Database Development is All-in Data Power Platform
Abstract
Data is to digital transformation just likes what electricity is to electrification, Data is Power. We are currently in an era similar to when the electric power was invented. The future is coming, everything is being reshaped, and data is empowering all industries for digital transformation. The development of IT is shifting from computing-centric to data-centric, aiming at data empowering. Database was the earliest and most successful data empowerment technology, and the destination of database development is a unified data platform that makes data easy to harness and use, just as the power grid. Data Power Platform is a concept proposed in China around 2016 which embodies the notion of data empowerment. Looking back at the history of database development helps us understand the path of data empowerment.
BIO
ZHOU Aoying, Professor at School of Data Science and Engineering (DaSE) and Director of “AI+” Institute at East China Normal University, President of Shanghai Computer Society. He is a standing member of the council of China Computer Federation (CCF), Director of CCF TCDB, CCF Fellow, and the Associate Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Journal of Computer. He was the winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and the professorship appointment under Changjiang Scholars Program of Ministry of Education. His research interests include database, data management, blockchain, digital transformation, and digital technologies for data-driven applications, such as Financial Technology (FinTech), Education Technology (EduTech).
