OCT、Speckle reduction
Optical coherence tomography (OCT) inherently suffers from speckle due to its coherent nature. This granular pattern obscures structural and degrades resolution. To address this, we propose a numerical speckle reduction method for full-field swept-source OCT (FF-SS-OCT), based on a novel imaging formulation introduced by Tomita et al. In this framework, an OCT image is mathematically decomposed into an “incoherent image” and “speckle.” Leveraging this model, we numerically generate multiple complex OCT images with modulated speckle and reduce it through averaging. This process effectively suppresses speckle without compromising resolution. We validate the method using FF-SS-OCT data.
