We report on an ammonia gas sensing method using a continuous-wave terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (CW-THz TDS) system driven by multimode laser diodes (MLDs). The system enables stable and broadband THz wave generation through optical beating, offering a compact and cost-effective solution for gas sensing. By optimizing the detection setup and modulation scheme, we achieve highly sensitive detection of ammonia gas at low concentrations under sub-ppm conditions. The use of MLDs allows for flexible operation without the need for bulky or cryogenic components. This approach demonstrates strong potential for real-time, non-contact gas monitoring in environmental and industrial applications.
