Perovskite oxide La2/3Sr1/3MnO3 (LSMO) is a promising ferromagnetic material due to its high Curie temperature (>300 K) and half-metallicity, attributed to double-exchange interactions. However, its magnetic and conductive properties degrade near interfaces, known as the "dead layer", due to effects like epitaxial strain and octahedral rotations. Epitaxial lift-off using a water-soluble buffer layer has been shown to reduce this dead layer and enhance magnetization and Curie temperature. In this study, We epitaxially grew an LSMO/Sr4Al2O7 heterostructure on an STO substrate and transferred to a Si substrate after lift-off. The LSMO membrane shows improved magnetic properties. X-ray absorption and XMCD analyses revealed that strain release enhances orbital magnetic moments and reduces anisotropy, explaining the improved ferromagnetism.
