Recently, 3D magnetic memory using domain wall (DW) motion has drawn interest in enhancing memory performance. These devices control DWs in nanowires composed of magnetic domains and DW-pinning layers. Co-Pt and Co-Pd alloys are suitable materials due to their high magnetocrystalline anisotropy Ku and compatibility with multilayer structures. While Co-Pt nanowires have been studied, Co-Pd nanowires remain underexplored. We fabricated CoxPd100-x nanowires (x = 35–98) via electrodeposition in polycarbonate templates (PTs) with 1%, 8%, and 31% porosities, using a Co2+ :Pd2+ ratio of 100:1 and varying deposition potentials (-850 to -700 mV).The wires 2-20 micrometer, fcc structure were analyzed by SEM, TEM, EDX, ED, XRD, and VSM. Ku values depend on wire lenght and Ms, not just composition. PTs with 1% and 31% porosity yielded optimal results.
