Circular dichroism (CD) analysis is a standard method to measure the difference in absorbance properties between left and right circularly polarized (LCP and RCP) light chiral mocules. However, the size of the free-space optics based system tends to be large, and the operating bandwidth is limited to the visible range. In topological photonics systems, light can propagate while maintaining circular polarization. In this study, we measured infrared circular dichroism (VCD; vibrational circular dichroism) at the chip level for a very small amount of sample (100 nl of (-)-borneol in this case).
