[HT-04]ホットトピックス04 Clinical and molecular pathology of TDP-43 proteinopathies

Among the neurodegenerative diseases caused by protein accumulation, we will focus on TDP43 proteinopathy. Like other diseases, degeneration caused by this protein is pathologically diverse, including clinical and ultrastructural features. However, the way it is transmitted by inoculation into animals is different from other proteins. Even when looking at ALS alone, the state of accumulation in upper and lower motor neurons is also different. In this symposium, we will present the latest findings on the neuropathology, molecular pathology, and clinical features of this protein-related disease.

樽谷 愛理 (公益財団法人東京都医学総合研究所)
Airi Tarutani is a researcher in Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Science from Tokyo Metropolitan University and worked at Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science and the University of Tokyo, University Medical Center Göttingen as a postdoctoral fellow. Her work focuses on the structural and biochemical properties of tau, α-synuclein and TDP-43 extracted from human brains, and prion-like behaviors of these pathogenic proteins.
