Getting to the Botanical Gardens from Kitayama Station

Subway Karasuma Line → Kitayama Station → Exit 3 → right outside the exit

1Get off at Kitayama Station
Kitayama is on the Subway Karasuma Line, two stops before Kokusaikaikan — the station for the main congress venue.

2Go up to the ticket gates
Take the stairs or the escalator up from the platform.

3Turn left and head for Exit 3
This board faces you as you come out of the ticket gates. Kyoto Botanical Gardens is listed on the Exit 3·4 side, to the left.

4Follow the Exit 3 signs
Walk on and turn left where the signs point to Exit 3. The sign by the door names the Botanical Gardens as well.

5Take the lift, or the stairs
The passage leads to a lift that goes straight up to street level. Stairs are there too if you prefer them.

6The gardens are straight ahead
Come out of the exit and the Kitayama Gate of the Botanical Gardens is directly in front of you.

Please note: IHC2026 participants enter free of charge during the congress. IHC2026 participants receive a free admission ticket for the gardens with their congress bag. Please present the ticket at the gate.
Exit 3 is the step-free exit at Kitayama Station: it has a lift up to street level. Exits 1 and 2, on the other side of the ticket gates, have stairs only.
