About Symposium
Announcement: 48th Symposium on Wind Energy Symposium (November 26–27)
We sincerely hope that this symposium will contribute to technological advancements in wind power generation and the revitalization of the wind power industry, and we look forward to your participation and lively discussion.
『Day 1』
In the morning, under the theme "Status of Policies and Measures Related to Wind Power Generation", government policy officials will deliver Invited Lecture 1, providing the latest information on wind energy and outlining future directions.
For the afternoon's Invited lecture 2, titled "Latest Trends in Offshore Wind: Realities and Plans for Supply Chain, Construction, and Operations & Maintenance", we will hear case studies presented by key players driving offshore wind projects both in Japan and abroad. The presentations will go beyond mere project overviews, the speakers will focus on the challenges faced, lessons learned, and on-the-ground insights gained during actual construction and operations & maintenance (O&M). From a supply chain perspective, a project operator that has launched Japan’s first monopile manufacturing facility will share their outlook. Additionally, a Panel Discussion themed "Enhancing the Safety and Reliability of Wind Power Generation" has been organized prompted by the blade-fall accident in Akita, we organized the program into three parts to communicate the Society's commitment to safety and reliability: (1) JWEA’s activities and achievements regarding the enhancement of wind power safety and reliability; (2) the latest trends in wind power safety; and (3) a panel discussion. Furthermore, regarding the Report from JWEA, representative from JWEA will prepresent an update on the "Status of the Study Group's Initiatives".
Following the lecture on the first day, a Poster Session will be held with the authors present.
『Day 2』
As in previous years, we will hold General Research Presentations covering advanced wind energy utilization and new developments in related technologies.
Following the general research presentations, we will host "Industry Seminar" and "Evening Seminar" -Events disigned to foster networking among young professionals- replacing the Lunch Semminar held in previous years. The seminar aim to deepen understanding of jobs and careers within the wind eergy sector and facilitate the building of professional network within the industries.
『Both Days』
As in previous years, we will be holding a Poster Exhibition over the cource of two days. A large number of presentation will be displayed in the exhibition area, so please be sure to stop by.
