The 2026 SSJ Fall Meeting

Student Excellence Presentation Award

The Student Excellence Presentation Award has been established to encourage excellent research presentations by students and to promote the improvement of research presentation skills. The award is open to regular student members who (1) present their research as the presenter at the Seismological Society of Japan Fall Meeting and (2) wish to be considered for the award. Both oral presentations and poster presentations are eligible.

A prerequisite for eligibility is that the Application Form for Student Membership Fee Status for the current fiscal year has been submitted to the Seismological Society of Japan Secretariat by the time the abstract is accepted. Students who have received this award in previous years are not eligible for the award this year.

Only those who are enrolled as students at the time of presentation are eligible for evaluation. If you lose your student status after submitting your abstract, please promptly inform the Conference Planning Committee.

Award recipients will be selected by a Selection Committee organized in accordance with separately established selection procedures.

  • Information on the Outstanding Student Presentation Award regulations and past award recipients can be found here.
  • The Selection Criteria Guidelines can be found here (posted on October 10, 2023).

If you meet the eligibility requirements and wish to be considered for the award, please select the “Apply” checkbox under the Student Excellence Presentation Award section when submitting your presentation.
