Metamaterials are subwavelength periodic structures offering unique characteristics such as negative refraction, perfect absorption and negative permittivity [1], [2]. Perfect absorption plays a crucial role in various photovoltaic applications, such as solar cells [3]. Consequently, metamaterial-based absorbers have become a significant area of research [4]. By tuning structural parameters and achieving impedance matching, the properties of an absorber can be effectively modified. In this work, we propose a polarization-insensitive broadband metamaterial absorber comprising gold nanostructures, including a disc and a hollow cylinder deposited on a continuous thin TiO2 layer on top of a thin gold layer coated on a SiO2 substrate.
