In this study, we investigated unusual behaviors in electron thermal conductivity κel and lattice thermal conductivity κlat to develop thermal devices.
For the electron thermal conductivity, the effect of fine electronic structure and backflow effect caused by thermoelectric motive force was investigated in terms of the electronic structure near the chemical potential. The reduction in κlat was analyzed in terms of anharmonic lattice vibrations.
By making guiding principles for optimizing the thermal conductivity together with the electron transport properties, we fabricated high-performance thermal diodes, heart flow switches, and thermoelectric generators
