【About us】
Since its establishment in 2002 as a venture company from Tohoku University, Photonic Lattice, Inc. has been expanding its business based on unique optical technology. We design and manufacture photonic crystals, our core competence, for optical measurement and control applications. We also develop and sell application products such as polarization imaging systems, polarization measurement systems, and infrared spectroscopy systems, which are based on our optical technology, in collaboration with our parent company, PHOTRON LIMITED.
We have introduced our products to various customers such as universities, research institutes, and manufacturing companies in Japan and overseas, and have been working to contribute to the achievement of cutting-edge research and improvement of production efficiency.
With a spirit of sincerity, we will continue to pursue the possibilities of “Optics” with our unique technologies and meet the potential problems and expectations of our customers.

1. Polarization Imaging Camera (WPI-200)

Polarized camera that can acquire all polarization information. You can measure DOP, which indicates the degree of polarization, and distinguish between clockwise and counterclockwise circular polarization. 2D Birefringence Measurement System (WPI-300)

2D birefringence measurement systems provide high-speed birefringence measurement of transparent materials, such as transparent parts for residual stress evaluation, or transparent films for the evaluation of phase uniformity. Ranging from microscopic to macroscopic (~50 cm), the field of view adapts to any measurement situation, and there is a system for each size. WPA series expands the measurement range of phase difference from 0 to 3,500 nm by measuring birefringence/phase difference distribution over three waves.

Mageleka was formally established in 2016 by six experienced entrepreneurs, engineers, and scientists. Their mutual frustration was with the lack of current devices that enable scientists to measure and quantify nanoparticle surfaces as they are formulated and subsequently manufactured, at any industrially-relevant concentration. Mageleka's objective is to address that need.
The MagnoMeter XRS™ RelaxoMeter was introduced in January of 2020. Since that launch, Mageleka has added two further devices (the RelaxFlow and SedimentoMeter). Two additional devices (the PorosiMeter and the DiffusioMeter) are scheduled to debut in 2022.

Mageleka’s flagship instrument is the MagnoMeter XRS™ RelaxoMeter, a powerful and versatile next-generation benchtop low-field NMR spectrometer that provides fast, accurate, particle characterization and surface analysis of dispersions. It is ideal for fundamental formulation R&D, rapid QC of incoming raw materials, and QA of final commercial products.
The RelaxoMeter Flow is ideal for use with heterogeneous suspensions where batch sampling is problematic. Use it to monitor milling processes in real time, and under industry-relevant conditions. Also for investigation of the impact of continuous addition of chemical reactants, and for laboratory studies of process control. The SedimentoMeter is a simple benchtop device for: determining settling/sedimentation rates of slurries, investigating particle aggregation (coagulation/flocculation), and measuring fast or slow kinetic processes and mechanisms. High-resolution particle size distribution, proven by centrifugal sedimentation, achieves precise particle size distribution measurement from undiluted solutions to dilute samples. The centrifugal sedimentation method, which measures particles while classifying them by size, allows for high-precision, wide-range measurement results to be obtained at once. Two types of measurement methods, the line start method and the uniform sedimentation method, are possible with one device and the same cell. It does not miss even small foreign objects or agglomerations, and can capture small coarse particles with high resolution.
Reliable measurement results are obtained up to the width and tail of the particle size distribution. Stable measurement is possible even for long periods of time, and the cooling function of the sample chamber and rotor prevents the temperature of the sample from increasing due to rotation, improving the reliability of the measurement results. The device is designed to be quiet, safe, and easy to operate.
