[1G15]Microstructural Evolution of the Intermetallic Compound Zr(Fe,Cr)2 at the Interface of Cr-Coated Zr Alloys under Fe2+ Ion Irradiation

This study explores the microstructural evolution of Zr(Fe,Cr)2 at the Cr/Zr interface under Fe2+ ion irradiation. Cr/Zr-bonded samples were irradiated at 300°C to doses up to 5 dpa and analyzed using TEM and SEM-EDS. Results show that Zr(Fe,Cr)2 transitions from crystalline to amorphous at a critical dose of 0.7 dpa, with a transition region exhibiting mixed phases. At 5 dpa, the amorphous region expands significantly. These findings provide insights into the irradiation stability of Cr/Zr interfacial compounds.
