The report on quantum confinement effect in transition metal oxide have been limited to moderately correlated systems or systems with electrons confined in defects, at interfaces or in δ-doped regions. Here, we report a possible observation of quantum confinement effect in strongly correlated perovskite manganite, La0.67Sr0.33MnO3 (LSMO). This material exhibits various magnetic properties arising from the strong correlation, making it a subject of significant interest for spintronics applications. By measureing the conductivity of the tunnel diode structure with LSMO layer with various thickness and the SrTiO3 barrier layer, we observed a conductivity oscillation and its LSMO layer thickness dependence, suggesting the quantum confinement of holes in the LSMO layer.
