The advancement of direct air capture (DAC) technologies is crucial for reaching carbon neutrality. We discovered that cyclohexyl-substituted diamines, such as isophoronediamine (IPDA), efficiently capture low concentrations of CO2 from the air, accompanied by a liquid-to-solid phase transition during absorption. To optimize the process, we developed a blowing-type reactor that reduces solvent consumption while enhancing gas-sorbent interaction. IPDA exhibited high CO2 removal efficiency from 400 ppm CO2 in the presence of H2O vapor, which helped control the viscosity of the sorbent and promoted the formation of carbamic acid.
