Nature is a complex and dynamic system in which diverse organisms and environments continuously interact. Because of this complexity, it has long been difficult to observe nature objectively and continuously, and to use such information as a shared foundation for society.

Recent advances in environmental DNA (eDNA) and related technologies are changing this situation. We are entering an era in which the state of nature can be monitored continuously and transformed into Nature Information that can be shared and used by diverse stakeholders. Nature information is no longer only a resource for research and conservation; it is becoming a new information infrastructure that supports decision-making by governments, businesses, local communities, and citizens.

This symposium focuses not on how nature information is generated, but on how it can be used to support better decisions across society.

Bringing together speakers from government, business, local communities, and design, we will explore questions such as:

* Who is nature information for?
* How can nature information transform the choices we make?
* What is needed to establish nature information as a shared social infrastructure?

By connecting the nature information created through research with the decisions made by governments, businesses, local communities, and citizens, we will discuss the roles, partnerships, and institutional frameworks needed to realize a Nature Information Society, and explore its future together with the audience.
